Serpent Ritual

Both organic and mechanical, the work is composed of large shedded snakeskins inflated with a hoover or hairdryer. The piece refers to traditional rituals associated with serpents that are found in many cultures. The snake symbolizes alternately fertility, creative life force, danger, protection, poison, cure and transformation.

Drawing inspiration from the etymological sense of „spirit“, the artist animates the spectral snake skins with machine versions of the wind or the breath.
